Tata Motors launched the Tata Xenon XT in South Africa and comes in four variants - Single Cab (4X4), Single Cab (4X2), Double Cab (4X2) and Double Cab (4X4). The Indian automaker has stated that the Xenon XT is an ideal bakkie for segments like family and leisure, farming, mining, construction, small businesses and municipalities. Its excellent off-roading capabilities also make it an ideal vehicle for 4X4 enthusiasts. In South African parlance the word bakkie denotes a small truck with an open body and low sides The Tata Xenon XT is equipped with XTreme Technology. It is powered by a new generation 2.2L VTT DiCOR (Variable Turbine Technology, Direct Injection Common Rail) engine that is controlled by a 32-bit electronic control unit. This is the same Euro V engine that powers the Xenon range across the world. The new engine delivers an peak power of 110 kW@4000 rpm and peak torque of 320Nm over a wide rpm range of 1500 - 3000. It is equipped with features like navigation, Bluetooth, dual airbags, ABS, differential lock (double cabs), and limited slip differential (single cabs).
