Toyota Motor Corporation has shown the design of its hydrogen fuel cell sedan. The vehicle was first unveiled as a concept at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2013. This translates to around Rs 41.41 lakh. The car will launch in Japan before April 2015 and thereafter will be launched in the in the U.S. And European markets in the summer of 2015. While in the two wheeler industry, it is Hero Eco which has taken a massive lead in promoting green scooters, in the four-wheel segment, Mahindra & Mahindra have been the pioneer in introducing electric cars (Mahindra e2o) in India. In Japan, the fuel cell sedan will go on sale only in regions where hydrogen refueling infrastructure is being developed. The company has not decided the pricing of the vehicle in the U.S. And Europe. More detailed information, such as specifications, exact prices and sales targets, will be announced later.According to a company release, Toyota’s commitment to environment-friendly vehicles are based on three basic principles. These are: embracing diverse energy sources; developing efficient, low-emission vehicles; and driving real and positive environmental change by popularizing these vehicles.Hydrogen as an alternative fuel can be produced using a wide variety of primary energy sources, including solar and wind power.
