Triumph India has just announced a safety recall of 34 units of their supersports motorcycle the Daytona 675R in India.
The problem as stated by Triumph in a media statement suggests that Ohlin TTX, shock absorber supplier has notified the company that a certain batch of the suspension component fitted to the above mentioned motorcycle contains a potential manufacturing defect and Triumph is advising owners to immediately stop using the bike until the suspension unit has been checked and if necessary, replaced.
The affected batch of the Daytona 675R motorcycles consists of the VIN numbers that are in the 642869–703908 range. These require inspection. A total number of 34 motorcycles have been affected as stated by the company.
Owners are being requested to submit the part number and batch code as stamped into the body of the Rear Suspension Unit (RSU) online at http://www.ohlins.com/support/recall and will be immediately informed if the part requires replacement or not. If the part requires replacement, Triumph requests Daytona 675R customers to contact their respective dealers or contact their local dealers directly to make the arrangements of inspection and repairs.
