On what the company displayed at the Auto Expo 2016
We have displayed a model of a
car which is fitted with the products that we make with a focus on electric
mobility. We are displaying here an electric assisted power steering, an
electrically driven axle, etc. This is the first time we are trying out with a
model like this. When people come, they need to know where the products are
fitted because if we simply show our products on a display, a lot of people
will not be able to understand how and where our products are fitted. This is a good way of showing people how they
are using these products in their day to day life.
On customer response on the products displayed
There’s been a huge positive
response. When we opened this area to the public, there was a huge crowd. A lot
of people have even taken selfies with this car. That is for the general
public. But with the components show being separated from the main Motor Show,
there is a lot of focussed attention here. Almost all our customers have
visited us. It’s been a very positive response.
On the two auto Shows being bifurcated
This is a perfect thing to
happen. Now there is a real focus on our products. When the shows were held
together, then the focus used to be on cars. Everybody would take time looking
at cars launches and other vehicle launches. This being just components, the
serious people are able to visit and the show is much more effective.
On the company’s focus areas in terms of products
Apart from the traditional
products we have been making, the focus at the show for has been electric driven
products. The focus has been on the product we have developed for off highway
application because normally they are small vehicles and there is no place to
put a power steering because of several paraphernalia that are required, but we
developed an electric and electronic steering for this niche application. It is
very compact and gives the same results of a normal power steering. That has been our main focus and that has
been put in this vehicle that is on display at our stall. There is another
product displayed that is an e-axle. We have a range of products there right
from an e-rickshaw to off highway application like a golf cart and utility vehicles etc.
