In spite of team mate Lewis Hamilton snapping at his heels for a good part of the race, Valtteri Bottas of Mercedes continued with his lead to win the 2017 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the last race of the season, making it a 1-2 for Mercedes. Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari could only manage a distant third for his team.

Vettel was followed by his teammate Kimi Raikkonen, while Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing came in fifth. His teammate Daniel Ricciardo retired earlier in the race on lap 21 having experienced hydraulic problems.
Force India drivers again found themselves in the first ten, with Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon coming in 7th and 8th. Nico Hulkenberg of Renault was sixth, with McLaren’s Fernando Alonso and Williams’ Felipe Massa completing the top ten.
