FULL ROAD TEST REVIEW
The Kwid was always a bold looking vehicle; it’s now got a stronger heart. Except for the heart transplant, there is nothing substantially different compared to its 800cc sibling. The 1 litre (999cc three cylinder) engine option will only be offered in the RXT variant of the model. The remaining three variants STD, RXE and RXL will only have an 800cc engine. The only two additional features that the 1 litre RXT model will have are the two-tone gloss grey Outside Rear View Mirrors and the speed-sport designer decals on the doors which are quite prominent.
Coming to the engine, it’s definitely a new one, but kind of carved out from the existing 800cc one, for the additional 200cc capacity. The engine produces a peak power of 67 hp at around 5500rpm and a peak torque of 91 Nm at 4250rpm.
The RXT version will have two models, one priced at Rs 3.83 lakh and the other at Rs. 3.96 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The 800cc (0.8L) engine Kwid is priced between Rs. 2.64 lakh and Rs. 3.73 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
