Porsche has recalled 4428 2-door sports cars across the Middle East and Africa. Porsche says that the lock bracket on the front lid may not be up to standards. Recalls have affected a lot of car companies in the recent past with GM, Audi, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Honda, among others having recalled their cars in large numbers, both globally as well as in India
The Volkswagen Group owned sports car company has recalled 4428 cars which only include the Boxter, Cayman and the 911 Carrera models because as the company states “it is not possible to guarantee that the bracket meets the specifications in the long term even though till date there haven’t been any incidents of unintentional opening of the front lid.”
Porsche claims that they discovered this problem during their in-house quality checks, and the owners of effected models will be notified by their dealers to take it to the workshop to be replaced to no cost to the customers.
This recall also probably affects customers in India because Porches identifies India in their Middle East and Africa region according to their website.
