The Ferrari 488 GTB has made its entry into Northern India with the sports car being unveiled in New Delhi at at Ferrari's New Delhi Dealership - Select Cars. Forty years from the original launch of Ferrari’s iconic first-ever mid-rear-engined V8 Berlinetta, the 308, the 488 GTB opens a new chapter in the history of cars with this particular architecture as the 488 GTB has set a new benchmark for the sports car sector globally. The car is priced at Rs 3.88 crore (ex showroom Delhi)
The 488 in the car’s moniker indicates the engine’s unitary displacement, while the GTB stands for Gran Turismo Berlinetta, a reference to its deep roots in Ferrari history.
Powered by a V8 3902 cc engine, it delivers a maximum power of 660 bhp @ 8000rpm and a peak torque of 760 Nm at 3000 rpm in VII gear. With a length of 4568 mm, a width of 1952 mm and a height of 1213 mm, the car has a dry weight of 1370 kg, with a weight distribution of 46.5pc in Front and 53.5pc in Rear. The car does a 0-100 kmph in a mere 3.0 seconds and a 0 -200 kmph in 8.3 seconds. It does a maximum speed of 330 kmph. Fuel consumption is around 11.4 litres per 100 km. In short, it means the car gives 8.7 km per litre of fuel (With 98 RON petrol).
