The Volkswagen Motorsport India’s One-make series – Ameo Cup concluded its inaugural season at the Madras Motor Race Track near Chennai. Karminder Pal Singh put forward a strong performance in the first race of the day and sealed the title for 2017 season with one race of the season still to go. Karminder had dominated the whole season with nine out of ten finishes on the podium.
As a part of the sponsorship programme run by Volkswagen Motorsport India, Karminder will get a fully sponsored season in the MRF Formula 1600 championship for the next season. The second place in the title was open all the way to the last race with Sandeep, Saurav and Dhruv slugging it out. It was Sandeep who finally walked away with the second place while Dhruv took the third position overall in his first ever touring car outing.
Sandeep managed two podium finishes and a fourth place finish in the last round to gain advantage over Saurav and Dhruv. A fabulous performance on the last day of the racing by Dhruv with a fourth place (after having started way back in 17th) and a third place finish helped him snatch the third place in the title from Saurav.
