The Volkswagen Polo R 2014 season, the dates of which have yet to be announced, has the drivers in place. During a two-day selection programme by Volkswagen Motorsport India, drivers were put through rigorous tests. Based on this, 12 drivers were chosen who would soon join the previous season’s drivers to battle for the top honours in the Polo R Cup 2014 season.
The Drivers’ Selection round was held at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore on March 05th & 06th, 2014. Though hundreds of enquiries were received, 23 participants were shortlisted for the two-day programme. Eventually 12 were chosen. They include 1 Anindith Reddy from Hyderabad, 2 Karminder Singh from New Delhi, 3 Utsav Shah from Ahmedabad, 4 Prabhanjan from Hyderabad, 5 Bonnie Thomas from Thodapuza, 6 Hari Kesav from Bangalore, 7 Mahatru Krishnamuthy from Chennai, 8 Arjun Bir from Bangalore, 9 Ishan Dodhiwala from Hyderabad, 10 Prashant Vats from Faridabad, 11 Amlandeep Bora from Dibrugarh and 12 Ebin Divakar from Bangalore.
Before the 12 were selected, the original 23 went through two days of racing and fitness level tests.
