The Volkswagen Motorsport
India’s One-make series – Ameo Cup concluded its inaugural season at the Madras
Motor Race Track near Chennai. Karminder Pal Singh put forward a strong
performance in the first race of the day and sealed the title for 2017 season
with one race of the season still to go. Karminder had dominated the whole
season with nine out of ten finishes on the podium.
As a part of the sponsorship
programme run by Volkswagen Motorsport India, Karminder will get a fully
sponsored season in the MRF Formula 1600 championship for the next season. The
second place in the title was open all the way to the last race with Sandeep,
Saurav and Dhruv slugging it out. It was Sandeep who finally walked away with
the second place while Dhruv took the third position overall in his first ever
touring car outing.
Sandeep managed two podium
finishes and a fourth place finish in the last round to gain advantage over
Saurav and Dhruv. A fabulous performance on the last day of the racing by Dhruv
with a fourth place (after having started way back in 17th) and a third place
finish helped him snatch the third place in the title from Saurav.
