The second leg of the 15th
edition of Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm witnessed the participants overcoming
tough sandy terrains in the blazing heat through 3 stages. The rallyists
covered a total distance of around 500km from Bikaner traversing through
Noorsar, Kelan, Rajasar, Motigarh and Nokhra to finally reach the Golden city
In the Xtreme category,
defending champions Sanjay Agarwal with navigator, Shivaprakash seized the first
position closely followed by Harpreet Bawa and his navigator Virendra Kashyap
from Team Maruti Suzuki in the second position. Suresh Rana along with his
navigator Ashwin Rana from Team Maruti Suzuki, who led on Day 1, was seen
zooming towards the finish line to complete the stage by coming third in his
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
In the Moto category, C. S
Santosh retained his first position followed by R Nataraj and Sanjaykumar in
the second and third position respectively.
In the Ndure category, Debajyoti
Nath and Arindam Ghosh retained their lead with the least amount of penalties
followed by Arpit Gupta and T Nagarajan. Nikunj Toshniwal along with navigator
Suvrajit Dutta dropped to the third spot in the second leg.
In the Xplore category,
Karthick Maruthi and Sankar Anand finished first followed by Rajesh Chalana and
co driver Satish Gopal Krishnan, Jagmeet Gill and Chandan Sen retained their
third position in this leg as well.
