It could not have been a
better start for the Mahindra Racing team as its driver Nick Heidfeld came in
third after a stunning first lap, which took him from 10th to sixth in the FIA
Formula E Championship in Hong Kong, the first race of the new season.
Like his fellow podium finishers, Sebastien
Buemi of Renault e.dams and Lucas di Grassi of Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport, Nick
too had to work hard to make his energy last. He did it perfectly, crossing the
line as he hit zero per cent.
The other driver of Mahindra
Racing, Felix Rosenqvist came in 15th. For Sebastien Beumi, it was a
winning streak as he is the reigning FIA
Formula E Champion and he got his title defence off to the perfect start with
victory in the HKT Hong Kong ePrix. With 30,000 people attending the event, the
new Formula E season began with one of the most unpredictable races so far.
The championship now moves to
North Africa for the first time, with the Marrakesh ePrix on November 12.
