In a swift move Merwyn Lim and co-driver Hamizan Bin Abdul Hamid of Force Motors snatched the lead from Gurmeet Virdi and Kirpal Singh Tung of Gerrari Offroaders in the Terminator Special Stages (SS) 19-24 of Force Gurkha RFC 2016. At the end of Day 4 Lim assumed first position up from third on the points table with a total of 1937 points.
Surpassing fellow Force Motors driver Tan Eng Joo along with co-driver Tan Choon Hong and Virdi, Lim maintains a lead of 40 points from the next contender. Gurmeet Virdi slipped to second place with a DNF (Did Not Finish) on SS24 due to a broken steering knuckle while Tan Eng Joo moved one space down to assume third position with a total of 1871 points just 26 points behind Virdi.
Still struggling to break through the Top 3, Kabir Waraich and co-driver Gagan Sachdeva maintain fourth place, a good 177 points behind Joo. Meanwhile lower down the order, Cedrick Jordan DaSilva and co-driver Floyd Preston of a local Goan team move up two spots to assume fifth place, while Abhinav Reddy Nukala of CORAC Hyderabad slip to sixth position.
The next big task in front of contenders is the Twilight Zone, where participants will have to cover a stretch of eight kilometers through dense forest land within a time limit of 20 hours. The Terminator SS raised the bar in terms of difficulty levels and what the participants have been exposed to till now, however the Twilight Zone holds its own challenges in store.
