Former Formula One champion Michael Schumacher is reportedly out of his six-month-long coma after suffering serious head injuries in a skiing accident in December 2013. Though reports confirmed that Schumacher has left Grenoble’s University Hospital in France, it is really not clear whether he is really back on the path of recovery.
However, Schumacher’s official website continues to carry an old message in which his manager Sabine Kehm has stated on behalf of his family that, “We are deeply touched by all the messages to get well soon for Michael which still are being sent from all over the world. This incredible support gives us and him strength. Thank you all so much! We all know, Michael is a fighter and will not give up!”
It is however, confirmed that Schumacher has been shifted out of the hospital to a destination away from public glare, where he would undergo a long rehabilitation programme. Even though the latest news is positive in nature, it is very unlikely that a person who suffered very grievous head injuries recovers completely. In a statement issued on behalf of his family, Schumacher’s family thanked all doctors, nurses and therapists at the hospital for treating Michael Schumacher.
A year after his retirement Michael Schumacher had hit his head on a rock during a ski trip with his family by accident, Schumacher was placed in an induced coma after the accident. The German’s medical team began reducing his sedation at the end of January 2014.
