Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari had to be content with a third position on the podium as Mercedes AMG Petronas teammates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg took away the first and second positions respectively in the Chinese Grand Prix held on April 12, 2015.
It was a Mercedes one-two win in the 2015 Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix, as Hamilton took his second victory of the season and his fourth in Shanghai. Sebastian Vettel fended off his Ferrari teammate, beating Kimi Raikkonen to third place.
Williams’ Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas endured a relatively lonely afternoon en route to fifth and sixth places, while Romain Grosjean took seventh for Lotus.
The youngsters from Sauber again got both cars into the points, with Felipe Nasr eighth and Marcus Ericsson tenth. Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull Racing took a hard-earned ninth place to complete the top ten.
The race finished under the safety car, which was deployed on lap 54 of 56 when Max Verstappen's Toro Rosso came to a smoky halt on the pit straight with a suspected power unit failure. The Dutch rookie had driven another great race and was running eighth prior to his retirement.
The race took place on a sunny and dry day at the Shanghai International Circuit for round three of the 2015 FIA Formula One World Championship
