Beyond emergency response, Honda India Foundation is working with stakeholders to develop Kolkata as an “Ideal Town” for Road Safety through a comprehensive 4E approach covering Education, Engineering, Enforcement and Emergency Care. The initiative seeks to address road safety holistically, from encouraging responsible road-user behaviour and creating safer infrastructure to strengthening enforcement and supporting timely post-incident care.
The handover ceremony was held at Police Headquarters, Lalbazar, Kolkata, in the presence of Arjun Singh, Labour & Transport Minister of West Bengal; Dr. Ravi Inder Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary, Transport Department, Government of West Bengal; Ajay Nand, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Kolkata; Udit Kumar, Senior Vice President & Director, CA/AR, Honda Cars India Ltd. and Trustee, Honda India Foundation; and Rajeev Taneja, Operating Officer, Honda India Foundation, along with senior representatives from Kolkata Police and Honda India Foundation.
On the occasion, Shri Arjun Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Labour & Transport, Government of West Bengal, expressed his appreciation to Honda India Foundation for the initiative and its support to Kolkata Police.
