In an event held in Mumbai, Tata Motors felicitated the Indian women’s cricket team. The players were presented with the brand-new Tata Sierra in the presence of N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPVL), and Shailesh Chandra, MD & CEO, TMPVL. Tata Motors is presenting each team member a Tata Sierra of their choice.
It may be recalled that the Indian Women's Cricket Team had won their maiden ICC Women's Cricket World Cup by defeating South Africa in a thrilling home final in Navi Mumbai on November 2, 2025. Key performers included Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma, earning widespread celebrations. In the final match India beat South Africa by 52 runs. Shafali Verma (87 runs) and Deepti Sharma (Player of the Tournament, 5 wickets in the final) were instrumental in the victory. This was India's first-ever 50-over World Cup title, making Captain Harmanpreet Kaur only the third Indian captain to lift the trophy.
Post the victry, the team was called upon by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu to celebrate their historic achievement. Now Tata Motors has felicitated the team, gifting each player a Tata Sierra SUV, a major recognition for their monumental win.
