Trek Bicycle has launched two new performance road-bikes - Émonda ALR 4 & ALR 5 targeting pro-cyclists and enthusiasts in India. The all new Émonda ALR with its exceptional ride characteristics at a great value with carbon frame-like looks is undoubtedly the ideal road bike for races, club rides and more. A lot of this is down to Trek’s “Invisible Weld Technology” which increases the surface area of the frame, adding to strength and reducing weight.
The new Émonda ALR models in India starts at a price point of Rs 1.06 lakh. The ALR model’s frame weight comes in at a competitive 1.12 kg and it uses the Trek’s patented 300 Series Alpha Aluminum. Trek Émonda bikes come with ‘H2’ fit – the optimal fit to put most riders in the right position for power and performance.
Émonda ALR 4 is a lightweight aluminium road bike. Shaped tubes, Invisible Weld Technology and a lightweight frame that's perfect for new riders and racers alike gives Émonda ALR the looks and handling of carbon at the price of aluminium. MRP – Rs 106,199
Émonda ALR 5 is fast, light, responsive and balanced – everything a quality aluminium road bike should be. But it also has the sleek looks of a far more expensive carbon bike. Upgrades on parts that make a big difference in performance, like the dependable Shimano 105 drivetrain, make it a smart choice for racing, club rides and more. MRP – Rs 124,299
Navneet Banka, Country Manager, Trek Bicycle India said, “Émonda ALR is great-looking bike at a great price. It shares the geometry of our highest-end carbon Émonda racing bikes, and it gives cyclists a ride quality that stands up in every way to far more expensive carbon bikes. We have witnessed an uptake of quality bikes in the India market. Going forward we will bring newer models to supplement the increasing demand.”
The total cycling market size in India is 16.3 million cycles per year. Trek caters to the super-premium segment which is currently approx. 30,000 units annually and has shown a CAGR of 20% over the past 5 years.
