In a bid to demonstrate the off road prowess of the Fortuner, Toyota organised an exclusive camp for its customers in Gurugram. The off road obstacle course was designed to give customers a chance at experiencing the Toyota Fortuner's off road capability.
The off road track presented obstacles such as side inclines, water wading, slush pit, gravel pit, big mound, deep ditch and some articulation pits. The latest generation Toyota Fortuner was launched in India in November 2016 and boasts of features such as Hill Start Assist Control, Downhill Assist Control and Active Traction Control. It is one of the few premium SUVs in India with a full-fledged 4WD setup.
Toyota aims at targeting potential buyers and existing buyers in Gurugram using this off road experience camp. The second gen Fortuner features a tough and cool design, it is available in both petrol and diesel powertrain options. The diesel comes in the form of a 2.8L mill mated to a 6-speed auto transmission with sequential and paddle shifters, it also gets a manual transmission option. The petrol engine is a 2.7L unit which is also offered with both automatic as well as manual transmission options. The diesel engine churns out a blistering 450Nm of torque and 174hp of power while the petrol motor produces roughly 163hp and 245Nm of torque.
