Scorching heat and some very
nasty terrains don’t really make a great combination. In such a scenario,
expecting people to enjoy and smile is like asking for the moon. But throw in a
few sturdy and good looking Audi SUVs, and the scenario changes dramatically
and everyone’s sloshed with joy and the world suddenly becomes so meaningful.
This was what happened when
Audi Noida- Audi Delhi West invited a select few for an off-road experience in
their Q series. A special track was developed for the off-roading experience in
The vehicles included the Audi
Q7, Audi Q5 and Audi Q3. Apart from the luxurious interiors of the car and the
ambient climate within its cabins (thanks to the perfect working of the
air-conditioner), what really thrilled people was the experience they derived
from the Audi quattro technology.
In its fifth edition, the
multi-city Audi Q Drive programme will be held across 30 dealer locations in India. “The Audi Q range
highlights the sportiness, the sophistication and the progressiveness of the
brand, The Audi Q Drive showcases the functionality and capability of our SUVs
while demonstrating their outstanding quattro capabilities on an off-road
track. For all the Audi enthusiasts, it is the perfect opportunity to experience
the grit and strength of the Audi range in a natural off-roading environment,” said Joe King,
Head, Audi India.
Quattro (meaning four in
Italian) is also a registered trademark of Audi AG. The famous Audi quattro
permanent all-wheel drive system was first officially shown in 1980. Audi still
uses the quattro permanent all-wheel-drive on their cars, in fact, most of them
come stock with it. The all-wheel drive system brings the most power to the
wheel with the most grip on the street, together with the Electronic Stability
Control (ESC) you are able to drive in every weather situation or performance
demand without sliding around.
Mind you, different models of
the Audi models use the quattro differently. In the Q 5, around 60 pc of power
is there on the rear wheels while 40pc is in front. It’s kind of evenly
distributed unlike in cars like the R8 where you have much more power going to
the rear wheels. So whether it was those
huge deep trenches or those steep inclines, it was quattro at its best with the
Q series off-road drive.
The Audi drive was held over two
days in Delhi NCR and people got a chance to drive the Audi Q SUVs under
trained supervision to understand all the nuances of the advanced technology
that Audi SUVs offer. So, everything about good traction, better acceleration,
excellent cornering and directional stability and good handling characteristics
of the Q series were amply demonstrated in this drive.
Commenting on the success of
Q-drive and the immense popularity of the Audi Q series, Shiv Kapoor, Director
of Sales and Marketing, Sterling Group said, “Quattro is a paradigm-shifting
Audi feature that no competing brand can match. It is uniquely Audi, and it
shows in how customers have responded. They have made the Q-series the best in
its class in terms of sales numbers and satisfaction scores - leagues ahead of
the competition. We hope the Q-Drive gives more people the chance to feel the
power of Quattro for themselves, and create a new wave of Audi loyalists as a
Deepak Choudhary, Sr. VP Sales
& Operations Audi Noida, added, “The demand for Q series is emerging on a
high scale in Delhi/NCR. The Q Drive is
an innovative platform to make our prospect customers more aware about the quattro
technology. The drive combines on road and off-road driving experiences and the
customers got to experience the thrill of driving the Q-series.”
