Two time European stunt
champion and Red Bull athlete Aras Gibieza has a tryst with Indians in
nine-cities in the months of April and May 2016 wherein he is bound to mesmerise
crowds with his stunts on the new Suzuki Gixxer motorcycle. He has already
enthralled crowds at the Ramjas College in Delhi University.
Suzuki Motorcycle India
Private Limited (SMIPL) also took the occasion to launch the rear disc variant
of its Gixxer range of motorcycles at the North Campus on the occasion of
‘Gixxer Day’. The Gixxer motorcycle carries the lineage of the legendary GSX-R
series, and the new variant with the rear disc brake was officially launched in
Delhi. The new addition will provide better stability and control on all kinds
of terrain.

Suzuki Gixxer Day is a
gathering of Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF owners to celebrate the spirit of the
hugely successful Street Sport Bike, while being entertained by the world class
performance of the Freestyle Champion Aras Gibieza. While New Delhi hosted the first edition of
the Gixxer Day amidst much fan-fare, this event will continue in Kolkata (April
20), Shillong (April 23), Hyderabad (April 30), Chennai (May 05), Kochi (May
07), Bangalore (May 12), Mumbai (May 14) and Pune (May 15).
Stunt-biking enthusiasts
thronged in large numbers as Gibieza demonstrated
his formidable prowess in stunt-riding. “I never expected the Indian audience to be
such fervent stunt-riding fanatics. Each stunt I performed was met with loud
cheers and thunderous applause which just egged me on to perform better. At the
end of the day, a stunt-biker is only as good as his audience and I just
experienced one of the best audiences I’ve been fortunate to perform in front
of,” said Gibieza after performing in
New Delhi.
Winner of the Stunt Riding
EuroCup, Aras has been fascinated by extreme sports from an early age.
Discovering his passion for motorbikes at the early age of 10, Aras couldn’t
pass by a two-wheeler without testing it out! Soon he was popping wheelies and
dragging his feet on the ground while riding on the rear wheel to feel the
balance of the bike. Since then, there has been no turning back and he has won
many accolades and is determined to become the best stuntman in the world.
Gibieza who is 26 years old, will be
seen flaunting his trademark 'Bunny Hops' and '360 degree wheelies' among many
other new stunts and tricks and is sure to give India’s motorbike enthusiasts a
visual treat.
Gibieza has previously performed in India at
Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Pune, Mangalore, Coimbatore, Kochi,
Kolkata, Guwahati, Shillong and Hyderabad as a part of his tours last year.
SMIPL also used this
opportunity to kickstart their #amGixxer campaign, where they have created a
community of like minded Gixxer customers, fans and enthusiasts. This community
shall provide a platform to host various activities across the country, mainly
moderated via the digital medium of facebook and social media. Gixxer Day and a
dedicated ‘amGixxer’ facebook page are the first of such community activities to
be taken up under the #amGixxer campaign.
Satoshi Uchida, Managing
Director, SMIPL, said “With constant support of our customers, SMIPL continues
to offer new products and technologies to the Indian market. We are pleased to
introduce our new variant of the much loved Gixxer range. It is one of our most
successful products, and to commemorate its success, we are celebrating Gixxer
Day with all our customers and bike enthusiasts who have been an integral part
of this journey. Through this, Suzuki wishes to cater to the appetite of Gixxer
customers for more intense engagement with the brand”.
