The internet is loaded with these things called “Memes”. Memes are “An image, video, piece of text, etc., typically humorous in nature, that is copied and spread rapidly by Internet users, often with slight variations” as Google would like to call them. Some of the very popular ones are the ones from the “Back to the Future” movie series.
A huge part of these memes take reference from old Sci-Fi films from the 70s, 80s and 90s which were depicting the future. Some of the scenes from these movies stated particular dates like “October 21st, 2015” and then a kid leaves his house for school on a Hover Board. As we come nearer to these dates that were mentioned in these iconic blockbuster films from the past, die-hard fans of these blockbuster hit films are starting to jokingly demand these products though the form of memes.
The fans of these movies jokingly put these out there, taking clippings from movies to prove a point and see whether these dreams and expectations from the past can actually come true.
To all the Back to the Future fans, there is some good news. Lexus the Japanese luxury car manufacturer brand from Toyota has built one and 3 months before its scheduled time!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Lexus gives us the Lexus Hover Board. Lexus has worked with experts in super-conductive technology to create the Hover Board. The Hover Board uses magnetic levitation with liquid nitrogen-cooled superconductors and permanent magnets to give the Hover board frictionless movement... whatever that means.
The Hover Board is a part of Lexus’ “Amazing in Motion” campaign and is the fourth project. The Hover Board from Lexus is designed to also keep in mind the way Lexus makes their cars like the signature spindle grille and hi-tech and natural elements like bamboo.
But here is the bad news. The Hover Board is only a concept, only a prototype to be precise and Lexus say that it’s not for sale however, they also say that they are “Testing” the prototype in Barcelona.
So if they will never sell it, why bother testing it? Or even making it? But we are sure that soon someone will find a way to put these into production and in the not so distant future, we might just find ourselves floating around on one of these.
