the HTC U11 you can squeeze your smartphone to perform various functions. The
phone is equipped with Edge Sense that identifies pressure applied on the edges
of the smartphone and then executes different actions like launching
applications or taking photos. The smartphone can be programmed to do different
things of light and long squeezes. But that is not the only gimmick that the
phone has, it also ditches the 3.5mm audio jack and opts for Type C connection.
Now while this feels like a bad move but considering that Type C is the future,
and more common than Apple's Lightning port. The U Sonic headphones that come
inside the box of the HTC U11 get active noise cancellation for an immersive
experience and also tune themselves according to the individual hearing
characteristics of the user. The device also gets HTC's Boom Sound speakers
with a tweeter on top and a woofer down below that increase the loudness and
dynamic range of the speakers.
The rest of the hardware specs include an octa-core
Snapdragon Qualcomm 835 SoC clocking at a speed of up to 2.45GHz, 4GB RAM, 64GB
ROM with expandable memory. Powering the device is a 3000mAh battery and you
get NFC as well.
The camera is a said to be ranked as the highest rated
camera on a mobile by DxOMark beating smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S8
and Google's Pixel. There is a 12MP Ultra Pixel camera at the back with a large
f/1.7 aperture and dual pixel autofocus, OIS, EIS and ultra speed autofocus
technologies. The U11 is capable of capturing 4K videos with 24bit audio. The
front houses a 16MP camera with a 150° wide angle lens. With HDR boost you can
take HDR images without suffering any lag that is generally accompanies along.
Making the phone extremely intuitive are the Google
Assistant and Alexa integration. The glass on the phone comes with curved glass
on all four sides both at the front and back of the phone making it easy to
handle and give it a premium look. HTC calls their design as Liquid Surface.
