Leading commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland, part of the Hinduja group, has recorded a massive 79pc increase in sales of commercial vehicle in December 2017, as compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. The company recorded sales of 19,253 units as compared to 10,731 units in the previous year.
Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles have also increased to 15,950 units in the month of December 2017, as compared to a mere 8782 units in December of the previous year. Light commercial vehicle sales increased from 1949 units n December 2016 to 3303 units in December 2017.
As for the period April 2017 to December 2017, the company sold 116141 units as compared to 97445 units, registering a 19 per cent growth. During this period, M&HCV sales stood at 87,009 units (74,653 units) while LCV sales stood at 29,132 units (22,792 units).
