New Holland Agriculture, one of the leading agricultural equipment brands globally, has recently announced the delivery of 600 tractors to Myanmar through the Agricultural Mechanisation Department (AMD) retail selling project initiated by Myanmar’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MOALI).
Five hundred of these tractors are the 75 hp New Holland TT75 (sold in India as the 7500) manufactured at the Greater Noida plant, in Uttar Pradesh. The other 100 tractors are 90 hp TD90 models from New Holland Agriculture’s plant in Turkey. To reach this important sales agreement with AMD, New Holland worked closely with Yangon-based Convenience Prosperity Co Ltd (CPCL), its authorised distributor in Myanmar since 2012, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yoma Strategic Holdings Ltd.
New Holland Agriculture is one of Myanmar’s top-three tractor retailers by volume and the country is now the biggest market for New Holland tractors in South East Asia.
CNH Industrial (India) Pvt. Ltd. {formerly known as New Holland Fiat (India) Pvt. Ltd.} is a fully owned subsidy of New Holland Agriculture in India. New Holland Agriculture is present in India with a manufacturing complex in Greater Noida that also comprises a Research & Development centre and a Training centre for dealers and customers. It offers a wide range of products, from tractors (35 to 90 HP) to balers, providing complete solutions for farming.
The goal of the AMD retail selling project is to enhance Myanmar’s crop production with mechanised farming. The New Holland brand enjoys global leadership in agriculture and farm mechanisation, and now the Indian operation is also spreading its wings beyond geographical boundaries under the ‘Make in India’ banner and contributing to the transformation of agriculture in neighbouring countries.
