Commenting on the day, Sunil Kumar Chaturvedi, Chairman & Managing Director, Gainwell Commosales, said, "India's infrastructure ambitions are only getting bigger, and that changes what customers expect from an equipment partner. It is no longer just about selling a machine. It is about making sure that machine keeps working through its entire life, wherever in North or East India it happens to be operating. That is the business we have built, and bauma is a good moment to show how much further we intend to take it."
Manav Kohli, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Gainwell Commosales, added, "The CAT 355 Excavator delivers higher production and loading capacity per hour that is needed by our customers for mining and large construction projects, with higher fuel efficiency and reliability that such projects demand. A good machine is one part of the value. We back the high productivity of CAT® 355 with cost-effective CAT Customer Value Agreements that ensure high availability and low cost per tonne assurance. This is what actually determines the return our customers see on their investment."
The numbers bear that out: the 355 delivers up to 296 kN of bucket digging force and is built around an operating weight of up to 53,000 kg, giving it the muscle to hold its own in quarry and mining cycles where every extra pass eats into a customer's margin.
Further, Akanksha Chaturvedi, Executive Director and Chief Growth Officer, Gainwell Commosales, added, “At the heart of all we do is our value of Customer centricity. We take immense pride in helping solve our customers toughest problems, whether on ground with our offerings, or virtually, making sure we stay connected with them through every stage of their journey. Our focus is on making ownership simpler, transparent and more responsive. Whether it is helping customers monitor machine health through VisionLink, order parts through Cat Central, or engage with us more seamlessly through Gainwell Vanijya, we are using digital platforms to make every interaction more efficient. Ultimately, it is about making ownership simpler and helping customers get the most from their equipment.”
The CAT 355 Excavator launch and the wider services push reflect Gainwell CAT's broader positioning as Caterpillar's long-term dealer partner across construction, mining and power systems in the region, with a network built to serve customers from Nepal and Bhutan through to the mining belts of eastern India.
