On the occasion of Karnataka Rajyotsava, Ather Energy, India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, is introducing Kannada language on the dashboard of its family scooter, Rizta. This update enables Rizta Z owners to switch their dashboard interface language to Kannada, making the user experience for Kannada speaking owners even more intuitive and seamless. The rollout will be done as an over-the-air (OTA) update across the fleet in a phased manner, starting 1st November 2025.
Increasingly, people prefer consuming digital content in their native languages, as it feels more natural and personal to engage with technology in the language they think and speak in. Recognising this, Ather has been working towards offering riders the flexibility to use their scooters in the language they are most comfortable with. Earlier this year, Ather announced the multi-language dashboard interface for Rizta, which will support eight regional languages - Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, making it accessible to a wider audience. The rollout began with Hindi, followed by Kannada, with the remaining languages to be introduced in the coming months.
Swapnil Jain, CTO & Co-founder, Ather Energy, said, “Karnataka has been home for us since the beginning. It’s where much of Ather was built, our teams, and our early community. In a state where culture and language are deeply rooted, adding Kannada to the Rizta Z dashboard felt like a natural step to make the experience more personal and accessible for our riders here. As technology becomes part of daily life, it should also feel familiar and easy to use, that’s exactly what this update aims to do.”
The Rizta, Ather’s first family scooter, is available in two models and four variants: Rizta S and Rizta Z, both with variants offering an IDC range of 123 km and 159 km. The Rizta features a large, comfortable seat and offers a storage space of 56L - including a 34L under-seat capacity and an optional 22L frunk accessory. It also has a spacious floorboard that provides ample legroom for the rider. Additionally, the Rizta is equipped with several safety features such as SkidControl, Live Location Sharing, Ping My Scooter (available on Rizta Z only) as well as Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and Tow & Theft Alerts. At Ather Community Day 2025, Ather also announced a major upgrade for Rizta Z with touchscreen functionality. Since its launch, Rizta has found a strong connection with riders across the country, crossing 1 lakh units in sales, in June this year.
