The new BMW X3 xDrive28i and
the new BMW X5 xDrive35i were launched in India on December 7, 2016. With this
launch, the trendsetters with BMW X factor are now available in petrol
variants. The ex-showroom prices (New
Delhi) for the new BMW X3 xDrive28i xLine is Rs 54,90,000, while that of the new
BMW X5 xDrive35i Design Pure Experience (5
seater) is Rs 73,50,000. The new BMW X3 xDrive28i and the new BMW X5
xDrive35i will be locally produced at BMW Plant Chennai. The new BMW X3 and the

Turbo Technology, the two-litre four cylinder petrol engine of the new BMW X3
xDrive28i produces an output of 245 hp and a maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1,250
– 4,800 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.5 seconds. The three-litre inline six cylinder
petrol engine of the new BMW X5 xDrive35i produces an output of 306 hp and a
maximum torque of 400Nm at 1,200–5,000 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 -100 km
/ hr in
just 6.5 seconds.
The eight-speed Steptronic
transmission is available with Automatic Hold Function in the new BMW X3
xDrive28i. The new eight-speed Sport Steptronic automatic transmission in the BMW X5 xDrive35i performs smooth, almost
imperceptible gear shifts. At any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates
perfectly with the engine, enabling it to develop its full power and
BMW xDrive, an intelligent
all-wheel-drive system, in the new BMW
X3 and BMW X5 monitors the driving situation constantly, is quick to
respond and is more efficient
than ever. The compact, low-weight and efficient all-wheel-drive system
distributes the engine’s power between the front and rear axle exactly to suit
the driving situation and the surface.
With xDrive and Dynamic
Stability Control (DSC), the vehicle remains directionally stable and
distributes drive power flexibly between the two axles for optimum grip and

the Sheer Driving Pleasure with features such as Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode,
Brake-Energy Regeneration, Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Electronic
Power Steering, 50:50 Weight Distribution and many other innovative technologies.
Using the Driving Experience Control switch, the driver is able to choose
between different driving modes to suit the driving conditions.
BMW ConnectedDrive offers
numerous features, pioneering infotainment and unique connectivity. BMW Navigation
system Professional with 3D maps (integrated Global Positioning System-GPS)
along with BMW apps reflects the high-level of
sophisticated technology standards. Systems such as the iDrive Touch with handwriting recognition
(including a 26 cm high-definition
colour display) , high-end Surround Sound system from Harman Kardon, rear-view
