Toyota has launched a face lift of the Etios sedan under the badge of Platinum Etios for Rs. 6.43 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The company has also launched the new Etios Liva for Rs. 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The face lift features a few cosmetic changes outside and inside to make it more appealing for non commercial consumers as well. The Platinum Etios and new Etios Liva will come with ABS with EBD and dual front airbags for driver and co-driver as standard fitment.
The diesel variant of the sedan will be available for Rs. 7.56 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) while the diesel variant for the hatchback comes in at a starting price of Rs. 6.61 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) The new Platinum Etios and Etios Liva hatchback feature a reworked front and rear bumper, front grille, new fog lamp bezel and a few chrome bits here and there. The front bumper and grille have been designed to look more sporty and contemporary. The new Etios Liva will also get new alloy wheels while the Platinum Etios gets a rear chrome garnish with reflectors.
On the inside the Etios gets a foldable arm rest for the rear seat occupants along with best in class cabin space. The cars also get a new instrument panel in black and ivory colours, new seat fabric upholstery, a new Optitron Combimeter and foldable rear seats. The new Etios Platinum and Etios Liva will also come with ISOFIX child seat mounts and 3 point seat belts with pretensioners and force limiters.
The sedan and hatchback come with the same 1.4 litre D-4D diesel engine which is quite reliable and has proven its worth over time. The engine returns about 21-23kmpl and puts out approximately 67.05bhp. The Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatch will also be available with Toyota's 1.5 litre VVT Petrol motor which puts out 88.73bhp and returns around 16kmpl.
