Toyota has recently launched a face lift of the Etios sedan and hatchback in Brazil under the badge of Etios Platinum. The company will soon be bringing this reworked version to Indian shores and we expect a launch before the festive season is imminent. The face lift hints towards a few cosmetic changes outside and inside to make it more appealing for non commercial consumers as well.
The new Etios features a reworked front and rear bumper, front grille and a few chrome bits here and there. The front bumper and grille have been designed to look more sporty and contemporary. The new Etios twins will also get a set of R15 8-twin spoke alloy wheels, side skirts and a rear spoiler.
On the inside the Etios may get a digital speedo meter which is still located in the centre of the dash. The car will get leather and fabric upholstery options and will also get a new touch screen infotainment setup which is bluetooth enabled and will also double up as a reverse parking camera. This however is not standard fitment and would probably be an optional accessory at additional cost.
Toyota will in all probability continue using their 1.4 litre D-4D diesel engine which is quite reliable and has proven its worth over time. The engine returns about 21-23kmpl and puts out approximately 67.05bhp. The Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatch will also be available with Toyota's 1.5 litre VVT Petrol motor which puts out 88.73bhp and returns around 16kmpl.
