Luxury car manufacturer
Mercedes-Benz launched the S 400, a new variant of its flagship luxury model
the S-Class, for its discerning customers in Hyderabad on Marych 29, 2016.
Popularly referred to as the ‘best car in the world’ by the critics and the
patrons, the S-Class portfolio in India, now becomes the most comprehensive one
with the addition of the all-new S 400. The flagship S-Class epitomises
opulence, indulgence and automotive magnificence. With the launch of the S 400,
Mercedes-Benz underlines once again its brand promise of the ‘best or nothing’.
The S 400 was launched by Roland Folger, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes
Benz India and Yashwant Jhabakh, Group Chairman, Mahavir Motors.
Under the hood of the new S
400 is a powerful 3-litre (2996cc), V6 petrol engine that produces 333 hp @
5250-6000 rpm and a massive 480 Nm of peak torque @ 1600-4000rpm. The engine is
motorised by the revolutionary 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission from Mercedes-Benz.
The 7G-TRONIC PLUS in S 400 has a more dynamic response and ensures reduced
fuel consumption. The high efficiency is resultant of a reduced torque
converter slip. The 7G-TRONIC PLUS auto transmission enhances driving pleasure
due to dynamic gearshifts and response characteristics with smooth gear
changes.
