Maruti Suzuki has launched the Suzuki S-Cross in India for a starting price of Rs 8.34 lakh. The S-Cross will be available with only 2 diesel engines-- a 1.6 litre and a 1.3 litre. The S- Cross is a crossover from the Maruti Suzuki stable and will be sold exclusively through NEXA outlets across the country.
The DDiS 320 1.6 litre 4 cylinder diesel engine produces 118bhp and 320Nm of torque with an average fuel consumption claimed by Maruti of 22.7kmpl. The 1.6 diesel will be available with a 6 speed manual where as the DDiS 200 1.3 litre 4 cylinder diesel powered motor produces 88bhp and 200Nm of torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox.
The crossover comes with special features like cruise control, rain sensing auto wipers, all wheel disc brakes, electronic IRVM, self adjusting clutch and fully synchronised reverse gear mechanism and high intensity discharge projector headlamps with auto function, among others.
With an 18cm touch panel display for the infotainment system, Bluetooth, smart phone connectivity, navigation system are also provided in the interior. The interior also hosts many more features like premium meter cluster- high definition TFT screen, rear parking sensor display, adjustable front central arm, automatic climate control, tilt and telescopic leather steering wheel, etc. The vehicle boasts of a boot space of 353 litres which can be increased to 810 litres when the rear seats are folded. It has a 60:40 rear seat split with two step recline.
