On July 8, 2015 Honda Cars
India Ltd. (HCIL) launched the new 3rd Generation Honda Jazz for
starting prices of Rs. 5,30,900 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the 1.2L petrol version
and Rs. 6,49,900 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the 1.5L diesel variant. The new Jazz
has been developed as a compact hatchback which offers several new features.

While the petrol version of
the car will come with the options of a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT
automatic transmission the diesel variant will be available with a 6-speed
manual transmission. The 5-speed manual, 1.2 litre petrol engine returns
18.7kmpl while the CVT automatic gives 19kmpl. The 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel
engine which has been built exclusively for the Indian market offers fuel
economy of 27.3 kmpl.

The exterior of the new Jazz
has combines sporty looks and an elegant design philosophy. The Jazz has sharp
and well defined character lines which provide a sporty and premium feel to the
car. The new Jazz also features LED tail and stop lamps, a tail gate spoiler, a
rear micro antenna, 15” sporty alloy wheels, fog lamps and sleek turn
indicators on the ORVMs.
The cabin of the car is more
spacious than before with an increase in rear legroom and an overall increase
in cabin volume. The new Jazz features an automatic touch screen A/C,
speed-o-meter with an eco-assist function, steering mounted controls, 5”
infotainment screen and Rear parking camera with multiple views. The top
variant of the Jazz comes with an advanced 6.2” touch screen Audio Visual
Navigation (AVN) system with camera display and DVD playback.
The new Jazz also offers
Magic Seats with 4 different modes of configuration for different utility
• Utility mode – with the
Magic Seat folded flat, for carrying two passengers and larger items, like a
bike with the front wheel removed;
• Tall mode – with the Magic
Seat folded up, for carrying two or three passengers and tall items like a
houseplant in the second row;
• Long mode – with the Magic
Seat folded flat and the front passenger seat reclined all the way back, for
carrying two passengers and a very long item like a surfboard;
• Refresh mode – with the
front seat reclined all the way back, for relaxing.
The new Jazz comes with a
host of safety features like an Advanced Compatibility Engineering TM (ACETM)
body which enhances protection of the occupants in the event of a Collision, Pedestrian
Injury Mitigation Technology, Driver and Front Passenger Dual SRS-Airbags,
Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD). The ABS
with EBD is being offered as standard across all diesel and Petrol CVT
variants. The Jazz is available in 7 colours –Sunset Orange, Carnelian Red Pearl,
Orchid White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Urban Titanium Metallic, Alabaster
Silver Metallic and Taffeta White.
