Datsun is working on a project to introduce a car smaller than the Datsun Go. The product will be ready for launch in the next 15 months.
Guillaume Sicard, President, Nissan India Operations said; “It is a completely new car that we are going to launch in the next 15 months. It’s not a reshaped version, everything is new. The platform is new, the body is new, engine is new, and it is a completely new car for the hatchback segment. I can tell you it will be slightly smaller in size and obviously in terms of price to sit slightly below the Datsun Go.”
Sicard added “It’s a world conjunction led by India”. The car has been conceptualised by Nissan’s Research and Development team in India with assistance from Nissan’s Japanese team from Yokohama and French engineers from Paris with an alliance with Renault.
