Jaguar has announced that on March 24, 2015, they will reveal the all new XF saloon ahead of the New York Auto Show on April 1, 2015 where full technical details of the car will be revealed.
With its global public debut at the New York Auto Show lined up, Jaguar has borrowed Jim Dowdall, an expert British stuntman and veteran of dramatic action stunts in movies like Bond, Bourne and Indiana Jones, to perform a world first high-wire water crossing in the all-new Jaguar XF.
Dowdall will attempt to drive the new XF across two 34mm-diameter wires suspended high above water. Jaguar says that the stunt will demonstrate the lightweight and agile credentials of the car. The event will be streamed globally on www.jaguar.com/newxfat 19:00 GMT on March 24 (1:00am IST March 25).
Jaguar claims that the all new XF is completely new from the ground up and will be the second Jaguar model to use the company’s new aluminium-intensive architecture. Apparently the new XF is so light, jaguar says that they have been able to achieve economy figures of 24.78kmpl*.
Ian Callum, Director of Design at Jaguar, said that he believes the all-new XF will be the best looking car in its class. “Elegant, handsome and with proportions that imbue a great sense of integrity – the all-new XF will be true to the strong tradition of sporting Jaguar saloons while being completely of its time.”
