generation of Porsche 911 Targa has arrived in India. The Targa will be
available in India in two variants-- the Targa 4 priced at Rs.1.59crore and the
Targa 4 S priced at Rs.1.78crore (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi)
The 911 Targa
4 will be powered by a 3.4 litre flat six petrol engine producing 350bhp. With
the Sport Chrono package the Targa 4 does 0-100kmph in 4.8 seconds and has a
top speed of 282kmph. The Targa 4 S however is powered by a more powerful 3.8
litre flat six petrol engine that delivers 400bhp and a top speed of 296kmph. Fitting
it with the Sports Chrono package, the Targa 4 S clocks 0-100kmph in just 4.4
seconds. Ticking the Carrera S powerkit in the options with the Targa 4 S boosts
engine output by 30 more horses.
Both will be
fitted with an automatic seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and the Porsche
Traction Management all-wheel drive systems as standard with a 22mm wider rear
axle and 10mm wider rear tyres. To increase efficiency of the Targa models,
they are fitted with electronic features like electrical system recuperation,
map-controlled thermal management of the engine coolant and an auto stop/start
The new 911
Targa resembles in design from the original model from 1965 with its iconic
fixed Targa bar with its state-of-the-art roof technology. The Targa features a
wide Targa bar in place of the B-pillars, a movable roof section above the
front seats and a wraparound rear window with no C-pillar. But unlike the
classic models, the roof segment on the new models can be opened and closed at
the push of a button in just 19 seconds, as the fully automatic roof system
stows the convertible top behind the rear seats
Director, Porsche India, stated that “In the 911 Targa, we see the ultimate in
driving dynamics come together with stunning design and the very latest in
ground-breaking roof technology.” Reddi feels incredibly proud and excited to
welcome the 911 Targa range in India.
The new 911
Targa 4 and Targa 4S are available at all Porsche Centres in India. The pricing
of the new 911 Targa are as follows:
