Mercedes makes its way to India. The all new C-Class is now available in India
priced at Rs.40.90lakh ex-showroom Delhi. The C-class is the 10th
car from Mercedes to be launched in India this year.
Bad news for
some practicality minded people is that only the C 200 petrol engine is
available. The diesel will follow soon in 2015. But the good news is that the
2.0L 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine gives 14.75kmpl and the C-class ups
the ante by churning out 181bhp @ 5500rpm with a max torque figure of 300Nm
between 1200-1400rpm. This makes it the most powerful engine in the segment and
with a 0-100kmph figure in 7.3 seconds, makes it the fastest as well. Just like
every other Merc, the standard 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission will be mated to the
engine with paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

C-class by 100kgs from the previous W204. The new W205 is lighter thanks to
high aluminium content as it has the lightest body shell in the segment as well
as reducing the weight of the engine itself. The result of all this is a top
speed of 235kmph. The suspension is specially designed for India which makes
everything soft and gooey and a higher ground clearance.
Fitted in the
new C-class are millions of features, which are more than enough to keep one
occupied for a lifetime. It has a driver mode selector called AGILITY SELECT
which lets you choose between Comfort, ECO, Sport and Sport+. it also lets you
set the car up individually from the engine, transmission and steering. A
creature comfort and vital feature is Cruise control with SPEEDTRONIC.

The inside of
the C-class is as elegant and luxurious as ever. With sumptuous ARTICO leather
everywhere and soft fluffy seats, sensuous flowing design shapes, everything in
the vehicle is of high grade materials. Thanks to the elongated wheelbase, more
legroom and knee room is available for the passengers. At night, the interiors
will get more elegance with 3 colour ambient mood lighting. Besides all the
