Mercedes revives Maybach with the S Class

The Mercedes S-class is probably one of the cars in the world that delivers the best kind of luxury there is with their S-Class. But now suddenly they feel it’s not enough and have decided that uber rich people need a little more pampering and the S-Class just won’t cut it anymore. So for the Chinese and American markets ( its débuting at Auto Guangzhou and the Los Angeles Auto Show just hours apart), Mercedes now give us the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

The Mercedes Maybach is 20mm longer at wheelbase and length when compared to the mediocre and commoners standard S-Class Saloon. The exact length is 5453 mm and with a wheelbase of 3365 mm only so that he rear passenger has more room for his legs. But Mercedes claim that it’s the also the world’s quietest production saloon. That’s a tall claim when the competition from the likes of Rolls Royce is being threatened.

The Maybach will be available in two trims, one with a 4.6 litre 455hp V8 with 700Nm of torque and one with a 6.0 litre V12 that makes 530bhp with 830Nm of torque. With a limited top speed of 250kmph, and a 0-100 time of just 5 seconds, the Maybach comes with more gadgets, features and accessories than a shopping mall.
