After teasing the internet hoggers of the world with teasers, BMW have finally pulled the covers off the X5M and the X6M in the US. BMW has priced the X5M in America at $99,650 (Rs.61,22,342/-) and the X6M at $103,050 (Rs.63,31,286). However, expect the prices to be much more when and if they make it to India.
BMW has also teased us with what’s inside these giant Sports Activity Vehicles, which is a 4.4 litre Twin Power Turbo V8 in both cars which produce 567 horsepower at 6000-6500rpm with 750Nm of torque at 2200-5000rpm mated to an 8-speed automatic steptronic gearbox. All of that power and torque will be sent to all 4 wheels with the help of BMW’s Xdrive all wheel drive system to make sure on tarmac, both cars do 0-100kmph in 4.2 seconds. The cars are electronically limited to 250kmph top speed. But if you opt for the M Drivers package, BMW will remove the limiter so one can do 280kmph. The M monsters will come with 21 inch forged alloy wheels as standard which hide the M compound brakes with large six-piston fixed calipers at the front and single-piston floating calipers at the rear.
Along with the immense power and performance, the two Bosses will have lots of standard safety and comfort features. The interiors will host M leather steering wheel with cast aluminium Paddle shifters a with more leather on the seats and dashboard for utmost luxury, but the optional Heads up display in both cars will display digital speed, rev band gear display and shift lights in the M display package. The owner also has three car setup options of Comfort, Sport and Sport +.
The exterior changes in the car are synonymous with other BMW cars from their M division. New front and rear bumpers which have the M signature 3 air intakes at the front with a bold rear bumper for both cars.
Both models will be available in US showrooms from spring 2015.
