The Hyundai Bayon is powered by Hyundai's proven four-cylinder 1.5L MPi petrol engine, a powertrain trusted by customers across multiple Hyundai models in India. Since 2020, HMIL has sold more than 6 lakh vehicles equipped with this engine, reflecting its established reputation for refinement, reliability and everyday usability.
Producing 84.4 kW (115 PS) of maximum power and 143.8 Nm (14.7 kgm) of maximum torque, the engine has been engineered to deliver smooth, responsive and refined performance across a wide range of driving conditions.
The Hyundai Bayon will be offered with a choice of 6-speed Manual Transmission (6MT) and Intelligent Variable Transmission (iVT). The Intelligent Variable Transmission (iVT) in Hyundai Bayon is engineered to combine smooth power delivery, driving efficiency and refined performance. Designed to adapt seamlessly to varying driving conditions, the iVT delivers a balanced driving experience that feels natural during everyday commutes while maintaining responsiveness when needed.
The Intelligent Variable Transmission (iVT) also works in conjunction with Dash Boost Mode, Sporty Drive Tech and selectable drive modes to deliver a smoother, more responsive and engaging driving experience.
