Strom Motors, a startup company in fast emerging electric vehicles space has announced its flagship product, Strom – R3, a personal mobility solution, opening with a limited number of units to be produced this year. The company has already hit big by gaining $ 1 million+ (Rs 7.25 crore) orders in just first four days, said a company press release.
Strom Motors, founded in 2016 by Pratik Gupta and Jean-Luc Abaziou, aims at making India energy efficient and car ownership economical within the reach of the common man and to promote more usage of electric vehicles for their daily purpose.
The vehicle is a “Made in India, Made for India” electric car designed with the purpose to serve people belonging to three segments--Working professionals, fleet owners, and families looking for mobility within the cities in 10 km radius. Strom-R3 is ARAI certified and has filed patents for its Vehicle Control Unit (VCU).
Strom-R3 uses a 48V battery system resulting in an additional 5-10 years second life for their battery packs, in applications like UPS storage and emergency backups. It also has a 4G connected diagnostic engine onboard, which will help owners track locations and status of charge, as well as get a complete health report of critical components like brake pads, motors, and electronics. The deliveries for this vehicle will begin by the start of 2022.
The pre-bookings are available for the Mumbai and Delhi NCR region with an initial amount of Rs.10,000 The bookings which are open for the next few weeks and early customers can benefit with upgrades of Rs. 50,000 which includes customised colour options, a premium audio system, and three years of free maintenance.
