Luxury car maker Mercedes Benz has launched the S-Class
350 CDI at Rs. 1.07 cores in the Indian market. The company has commenced the
local production of the diesel version of S-Class from its manufacturing facility
in Chakan, Pune. The 3 liter V6 engine of the new S 350 CDI is mated to a
7G-TRONIC PLUS 7 speed automatic transmission, which produces a power of 190Kw@3600rpm, 620NM torque
at 1600-2400rpm and accelerates from 0-100 in 6.8Sec at a top speed of
250km/hr. It also features Direct Select Lever with Paddle Shifters for rapid
gear shifts and smooth operations.
The company has also taken an eco-friendly initiative on
World Environment Day towards conservation of energy by installing a unique
Roof Top Solar Plant based on the ‘Grid Tie System’. The Plant will be able to generate
150,000 units of power annually that can power up to 400 households

manufacturing for the new S-Class and are confident with the manufacturing of
the new diesel version in India. The installation of solar power plant also
reiterates the companies’ commitment to achieve excellence in manufacturing by
introducing environment friendly initiatives in India.
The design of the S-Class 350 CDI is enhanced by the all LED
high performance sharply contoured headlamps and the panoramic
sunroof. The interiors of the new S-Class 350 CDI features 7 color ambient
lighting with a choice of 5 dining options, two 31.2 cm high-resolution TFT
screens and a multi-function two-spoke steering wheel that offers all controls at one go. The car has an
AIRMATIC suspension, which ensures smooth ride quality. It also
comes with Adaptive Brakes with HOLD function, ASR and Hill Start Assist and Active
Park Assist that automatically steers the vehicle into parking spaces.
