IIT Bombay makes an EVo 3.0 for UK challenge.

The EVo 3.0, a car made by students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay Racing team was unveiled recently. The car will compete in the Formula Student United Kingdom 2014. TE Connectivity (TE), a global leader in connectivity, has supported the team with high-performance connectors that will help towards better safety, efficiency and performance of the formula electric car.

The team from IIT Bombay will be competing against 200 racing units from across the globe in the Formula Student 2014 that will be held at Silverstone Circuit, United Kingdom from July 9 to 13, 2014.

TE Connectivity’s AMP+ HVP 1100 that has been used in the race car are finger-proof, touch-safe, one-position high-current connectors and headers. These have been designed for flexibility in hybrid electric vehicles. The AMP+ manual service disconnect is a tool-free solution for disconnecting the internal high-voltage (HV) battery pack and protecting the battery pack HV cables from short circuiting. It provides safe and reliable connectivity solutions to protect service technicians and emergency response teams, especially when they are working with or near the HV battery and components in the EVo 3.0.
