Going by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s philosophy “Make in India”, Jaguar has taken it very seriously. Jaguar has now launched an XJ that is made in India. Priced at 93.24Lakhs (Ex-Showroom-Mumbai), this jaguar is probably the most expensive car manufactured in the country.
The Indian made XJ will have a 2.0L i4 6 cylinder, turbo charged petrol engine which they claim is “state-of-the-art”. The turbo petrol engine produces 237Bhp@5500rpm while producing 350Nm of torque at only 1750rpm. The desi XJ also gives an ARAI certified fuel economy of 9.4kmpl which is quite fair.
The locally made Jaguar XJ also gets an ear drum blasting 825 Watt Meridian Surround Audio System with a 10.2 inch LCD screens at the rear. Enhancing the rear cabin of the desi XJ, Jaguar have added electrically adjusted rear seats with a massager with three back crunching settings, increased head room so when you bounce over pot holes on Indian road, your head doesn’t hit the roof, and electrically operated rear side window blinds
Now Mr Modi can travel in better comfort in the Desi XJ once in a while, when he is not being driven in the stately BMWs.
