Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the All New Camry Hybrid sedan in India for an introductory price of Rs 36.95 lakh (ex-showroom pan India). This is the 8th generation Camry and will be available in India in only one spec. The new Camry Hybrid has been inspired by and is the first Toyota car under Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). Present at the launch were Masakazu Yoshimura, (the newly appointed) M.D., Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Masato Katsumata, Chief Engineer, Camry, Toyota Motor Corporation and N. Raja, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
The new Camry Hybrid is powered by a 2.5L, 4-cylinder petrol hybrid Dynamic Force Engine and is capable of delivering 175hp@5700rpm and 221Nm@3600-5200rpm. The 4th generation Toyota Hybrid System comes with Nickel-metal-hydride batteries and the ARAI certified mileage is 23.27kmpl. The hybrid motor can generate a peak power and torque of 118hp and 204Nm respectively. The self-charging vehicle can run completely on the electric motor, providing a silent and eco-friendly drive. Excess power from the engine and regenerative braking charge the battery when needed. The new architecture has allowed for a lower centre of gravity for a better drive experience.
The all-new Camry Hybrid is available in Silver Metallic, Attitude Black, Phantom Brown, Platinum White Pearl, Graphite Metallic, Red Mica and Burning Black. The exterior gets a sleeker silhouette with two grilles at the front and a new headlamp cluster. The car sits on 18-inches multi-spoke alloy wheels.
