Tata Motors has launched the Tiago NRG for Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the petrol variant and Rs 6.31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the diesel. This new SUV inspired avatar of the Tiago is being called as the ‘Urban Toughroader’ by the company.
The Tiago NRG is powered by the same 1.2L Revotron petrol engine and the 1.05L Revotorq diesel engine and will be available with 5-speed manual transmission. It will come in 3 attractive color options – Malabar Silver, Canyon Orange and Fuji White, with dual tone infinity black roof and roof rails. The SUV character is aided by a large 180mm ground clearance and a suspension setup tuned for rough terrains.
The exteriors of the Tiago NRG get visual enhancements like black roof and roof rails, skidplate and 4-spoke dual tone alloys on the side. The interiors boats of a 5-inches touchscreen infotainment system, 8 speaker sound system by Harman, navigation and voice command. A host of safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking assist, armoured body cabin and more have been integrated into the vehicle.
Commenting on the introduction of a yet another class defining product, Guenter Butschek, CEO and MD, Tata Motors said– In line with our brand promise ‘Connecting Aspirations’, we want to be in sync with the growing trend of bringing to market more SUV like vehicles. To meet this aspiration, we have launched today, the Tiago NRG as our ‘Urban Toughroader’. With this launch, we are extending the Tiago brand and increasing our presence by entering into newer segments and tapping new sets of buyers. This launch is a step towards our Turnaround 2.0 journey, as we continue to focus on ‘winning sustainably’ in the PV business. We are confident that our customers will appreciate the Tiago NRG just like the Tiago hatchback.”
