The highly anticipated Maruti Suzuki Swift is slated to launch at the 2018 Auto Expo. India's largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki debuted the popular hatchback today and announced the commencement of bookings for Rs. 11,000.
The Swift has been one of the bestselling car models in India for more than ten years and in its new generation iteration the Swift features a brand new style and design. Built on the 5th generation HEARTECT platform, the new Swift gets more structural strength and rigidity along with an improved power to weight ratio. Alongside a longer wheel base, the new Swift gets more cabin space, headroom, luggage space and a wider stance.
R.S. Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) at Maruti Suzuki India, said, “The all-new Swift with its distinctive design, advanced technology, uplifting performance and enduring driver experience will bring disruption in the premium hatchback segment.”
Maruti claims the new Swift to offer a more aerodynamic design, superior ride, handling and drivability. Maruti will be offering the same powertrains on the Swift but are said to have tuned the engines to provide superior performance along with better fuel economy. The new Swift will also be offered with AGS which has been tuned for the Characteristics of the hatch. Other features include a flat bottom steering wheel, urbane satin chrome finish, bolstered seats, Smart Play infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice recognition and reverse parking camera.
