Japanese auto stalwart Honda's Indian wing - Honda Cars India Ltd. has sold 7 lakh units in India since its inception back in 1998. At present in its fourth generation model the Honda city has been immensely popular amongst customers and has consistently clocked decent numbers. India is one of the largest markets for the Honda City globally and contributes to over 25pc of global sales.
Honda managed to sell 1 lakh units of the City after 7 years of its inception in 1998. However the sales of the City has improved over the years with the latest 1 lakh units coming in just one year and eight months. The fourth generation of the Honda City has also proved to be the most successful model for Honda in India with sales figures standing at 269,941 units. Globally Honda sells the City sedan in over 60 countries and has sold more than 3.6 million units collectively in international markets.
