Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled their Jaguar I-Pace race car at the Frankfurt motor show. The race car will compete in the first of its kind single make series in line with FIA's Formula E world championship series. Jaguar has based this electric race car on the I-Pace, an all electric performance SUV which will be launched next year. The new Jaguar I-Pace eTROPHY series will begin at the Formula E circuit in 2018.
Dr Ralf Speth, CEO, Jaguar Land Rover, said, “The technology we are developing on the track allows us to deliver thrilling electric vehicles to our customers. The pace of change is exhilarating and we want to go above and beyond for our customers". The Jaguar I-Pace race car will be manufactured by JLR's Special Vehicle Operations team. The I-Pace eTROPHY will feature 20 identical specification electric race cars which will go head to head across 10 cities.
